Easy Law Training – our in-house service for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Advisers

October 11, 2022

Easy Law TrainingIt’s not often realised that as well as our membership service and training for landlords, we also provide in-house training.

The in-house service goes under the trading name of Easy Law Training, with a separate website here.

This is generally for Local Authorities, but we have also provided training for housing associations and for advice organisations.

Local Authority training

This is mostly provided by Ben Reeve Lewis, who has been associated with Landlord Law for many years.

Ben is a superb trainer and particularly so for Local Authorities as he has worked for Local Authorities in many capacities and understands what frontline officers need.

Ben has recently revised the training courses that he delivers via Easy Law Training / Landlord Law which are now as follows (click the links to find out more, they will open in a new tab or window):

If none of these suit, Ben can also create a bespoke course to fit your needs.

Housing Associations

Ben has also done training for housing associations as part of our in-house service, although sometimes this training is delivered via one of our barristers.

Advisers

Again, this is something Ben will be able to help with, although where appropriate, we can source one of our barristers to carry out training, or it can be done by Tessa (who, although often seen as a ‘landlords’ solicitor, has also done training for tenants and tenants advice organisations).

And finally

Proper training is important, particularly if you are a public-facing advice organisation in the housing field.  Housing law is complex and is not something that can be learned easily ‘on the job’.  Indeed this can be dangerous and could make your organisation vulnerable to claims if incorrect advice is given.

Even qualified lawyers can benefit from specialized training if housing law is new to them!

If you feel that your staff need a bit of training, feel free to contact us, although if you are from a Local Authority, please first view the details of our courses on our Easy Law Training Website.

Don’t forget also that many advice organisations and local authorities have also benefited from our other training and Landlord Law membership and the wealth of knowledge and guidance it contains, not to mention the members’ forum where you can ask Tessa questions.
