HMO Law & Practice Workshop 2024

A one day workshop with solicitor David Smith

Details of the workshop are as follows:

CPD: 4 & 1/2 hours

Registration is between 10.00 am and 10.30 am when light refreshments will be provided. The workshop will start at 10.30 am and end at 4.30 pm (with two comfort breaks and an hour’s break for lunch).

About the Venue

The workshop will take place at the premises of JMW Solicitors in London.

You will see its location from the Google map on this page.  It is on King Street which runs between Cheapside and Gresham Street. 

The nearest underground station is Bank.  Nearby mainline stations include Cannon Street and Liverpool Street.

About the day

The workshop will start at 10.30 am with registration from 10.00 am. Tessa Shepperson and Patrick Gee will be there to deal with any admin issues or queries you may have.

There will be two comfort breaks of approx 1/2 hour and one hour is allowed for lunch.  All refreshments are included, which will include unlimited tea and coffee and a buffet lunch. 

Please let us know ASAP if you have any special diet requirements so we can inform the caterers.

All delegates will be provided with a signed copy of David Smith’s book ‘Houses of Multiple Occupation and Selective Licensing’.  

Note that we will be filming the training day, so if you do not want to be included in the filming, please let us know so we can ensure that you are out of shot at all times.

The workshop will end at 4.30 pm.

About the Speaker, David Smith

David is a solicitor and partner at JMW Solicitors (who are hosting and sponsoring this event).

David specialises in residential property rights and agency and has experience of a wide range of property litigation. He is particularly well known for his work in the property field, including

  • Tenancy agreements and licences;
  • Consumer protection and rights;
  • Agent regulation including Client Money Protection, data protection and anti-money laundering;
  • Landlord regulation including property standards, deposit protection, HMOs and property licensing;.

Cancellations

You can cancel at any time up to 12 noon on the day of the event, save that there will be a £50 cancellation charge if you cancel on the day or during the preceding seven days.

All cancellations should be notified to us via the Green Button messenger service (there is a guide to using this here – please wait for the guide popups to appear).

Cancellations by us

Although we fully expect the event to take place, it is always possible that we may have to cancel for unforeseen reasons (eg sickness).  If this proves necessary we will let you know asap.

Event-related expenses incurred by you

If the event has to be cancelled for any reason note that we cannot be held responsible for any payments such as hotel bookings or any travel payments you may have made.  So please ensure that you are covered by insurance and/or that any payments you make are refundable.
